Disaster Risk Reduction

Disaster Resilience has been identified as a key important theme for our region. There is a key importance in working on preparing for disasters to reduce the impact on our communities. Disasters are a continued challenge in our region and through preparedness and creating connections across Kempsey, Port Macquarie and Bellingen we can increase our resilience through collaboration.

Towards Net Zero Update

We were successful in a bid for capacity building funding through the Joint Organisation Net Zero Acceleration (JONZA). Our JONZA officer, Skye Frost is dedicated to progressing the JO and member councils towards net zero. Get up-to-date on this great work now.

Community Land Trust

In response to a pressing need for innovative solutions to the mounting need for affordable housing, the MNCJO initiated the project to develop a Proof of Concept (PoC) for a Community Land Trust, or CLT, for the Mid-North Coast

Simtable for Community Empowerment

The Simtables for Community Empowerment project is a Mid North Coast Joint Organisation (MNCJO) project. It provides a state-of-the-art tool to engage communities in localised disaster risk reduction workshops.

Koala Conservation Partnership

Under the NSW Koala Strategy, $19.6 million is being invested by the NSW Government over 5 years to support local communities to conserve koalas and fund partnerships.

The Mid North Coast Joint Organisation respectfully acknowledges the traditional owners, the Birpai, Dunghutti and Gumbaynggirr people, as the custodians of this land. We pay respect to all Aboriginal community Elders, past and present, who have resided in the area and have been an integral part of the history of the region.
