MNCJO Adopts New Statement of Strategic Regional Priorities 2025–2029
The Mid North Coast Joint Organisation (MNCJO) has formally adopted its Statement of Strategic Regional Priorities (SSRP) 2025–2029, setting a clear direction for collaboration, advocacy and regional investment over the next four years.
Developed in partnership with member councils and regional stakeholders, the SSRP identifies six interconnected priorities that reflect the region’s long-term objectives:
-
Leveraging Successful Collaborations – Strengthening partnerships to improve efficiency, build capacity and advocate effectively for sustainable regional outcomes.
-
Community Liveability and Wellbeing – Enhancing the liveability and inclusiveness of communities across the Mid North Coast.
-
Infrastructure and Connectivity – Supporting adaptable infrastructure and transport networks that can meet future growth and resilience demands.
-
Environmental Sustainability and Resilience – Protecting natural assets, improving disaster preparedness and building regional resilience.
-
Housing and Population Growth – Ensuring growing communities have access to diverse housing, efficient land use and enabling infrastructure.
-
Economic Development and Tourism – Building a thriving regional economy supported by strong businesses, quality jobs, innovation and a vibrant visitor economy.
Each priority is supported by targeted objectives and actions that will guide the JO’s annual work program, subject to available funding and capacity.
The adoption of the SSRP marks an important phase in the organisation’s evolution, reflecting its role as a strong and unified regional voice. The plan outlines how councils, communities and government can work together to deliver practical, place-based outcomes that respond to local needs and regional opportunities.
The SSRP builds on extensive collaboration with council Community Strategic Plans and aligns regional priorities with major state frameworks. It also comes at a time of growth for the organisation, with the inclusion of Coffs Harbour City Council and Clarence Valley Council as an Associate Member. This expanded membership strengthens regional capability and promotes greater alignment across the Mid North Coast.
The MNCJO remains focused on championing regional priorities and progressing initiatives that deliver real benefits to Mid North Coast communities. By deepening collaboration between councils and government, the organisation is helping the region prepare for growth, adapt to change and thrive into the future.
