Clarence Valley Council

The Clarence Valley, in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, is home to around 57,000 people living on the lands of the Bundjalung, Yaegl and Gumbaynggirr nations. The region stretches 10,441 square kilometres from the mountains to the sea and includes three main towns, Grafton, Maclean and Yamba, as well as more than 60 villages. 

Clarence Valley Council works with the community to connect people, support thriving local economies, protect the environment and plan for a sustainable future. The region features 36 beaches along 100 kilometres of coastline, eight rivers including the mighty Clarence, and over 2,200 square kilometres of national parks, state forests and reserves. Roads spanning 2,476 kilometres link towns and villages across the Clarence Valley. 

Council is guided by innovation, efficiency and accountability to deliver services and facilities that meet community needs today and into the future. Key priorities include supporting economic growth, enhancing community infrastructure, protecting natural environments, and fostering strong connections between residents, businesses and the broader region.
