The Port Macquarie-Hastings Council local government area is located on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, about 420 kilometres north of Sydney, and 510 kilometres south of Brisbane.

Our region offers a fantastic lifestyle and climate, a rapidly growing and diverse economy, affordable and accessible land, and outstanding business opportunities. We have a strong labour force and, as a key regional centre, are well positioned to be a major beneficiary of the continued rise and popularity of the Mid North Coast. Our Airport services the wider Mid North Coast Region and caters for approximately 230,000 passengers per year, making it the 5th largest regional airport in NSW.

We are spoilt for educational choice, with first rate public, independent and private schools. Three of Australia’s leading universities have now established campuses here, with Port Macquarie offering the only full medical degree in regional NSW.

Greater Port Macquarie has things to see and do for all ages of various interests who can enjoy activities such as high-speed boats, scenic river cruises and much more. With the Pacific Ocean, golden beaches, lush rainforests and hinterland with abundant wildlife, these are just some of the reasons that so many people return to settle.
